“Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio” Leaving Netflix India this February 9th

Jenni Rivera is an iconic female Latin singer who went on to be a chart topper with her music albums.
Her music was one of the main reasons why music styles like Banda, Mariachi and Norteño became popular at the same time dealing with serious themes like domestic abuse, infidelity and other social issues. In fact Rivera was among one of the first women to sing about the narcocorridos.
She was also well loved and known for her charity through the Love foundation, where she made an impact on the lives of many women and children who were survivors of domestic abuse, she was posthumously honoured by many philanthropy organisations which were associated with her including the Children's Hospital Los Angeles who added her on their  "wall of fame" for all her support and contributions.Even after her death her legacy of philanthropy continues through the Jenni Rivera Love foundation which continues to host annual fundraisers for the different charities she had been patron of.
Following her tragic death in an airplane crash in Mexico following a performance at Monterrey, Mexico, her family released the book  Unbreakable: My Story, My Way by Jenni Rivera. The book which went on to be a best seller was a collection of thoughts and anecdotes written by Rivera on napkins and loose paper between shows and travelling.The book was a rare insight into Rivera in her various roles as a woman, daughter, mother, friend and a celebrity.
The book was later adapted into a telenovela which was first released in 2017, the show which was simply called Mariposa had Angélica Celaya in the lead role as Jenni Rivera,the ensemble cast also included Gabriel Porras, Rosalinda Rodriguez, Samadhi Zendejas, Tony Garza, Regina Orquin.
Mariposa was well received by viewers ,the show which had two parts had a total of around 90 episodes and was later nominated for the International Emmy Award in the category of best Non English Language US primetime programme.The series had been available on Netflix from 2021 and will be leaving the platform by February 9th of this year.
