You know that feeling. You open Netflix. You stare at the screen for ten minutes. You close the app. Then you open it again. I do this all the time. It is annoying. But last week, I sat down and actually watched a bunch of new Indian movies on Netflix. Some were great. A couple were okay. And a few were so good that I had to tell people about them. So here is my honest list. No fancy talk. Just the movies you should watch right now.
New Indian Movies on Netflix You Can Watch Tonight
I made this table so you can pick fast. Just look at what you are in the mood for.
| Movie Name | Language | Genre | Why I Think You Will Like It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mardaani 3 | Hindi | Action | Rani Mukerji beats up bad guys. Very satisfying. |
| Toaster (April 15) | Hindi | Dark Comedy | A man wants his wedding gift back. Chaos follows. |

What Are the New Indian Movies on Netflix Right Now? (April 2026)
I checked Netflix this morning. Here is what is trending and what is actually worth your time.
1. Vadh 2 – The Small Movie That Became a Giant Hit
I almost skipped this film. Why? Because it failed in theaters. No big songs. No fancy locations. Just a middle-aged couple and a courtroom.
But I gave it a shot. And man, I am glad I did.
Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta play a husband and wife. Their son gets into trouble. Then things get worse. Much worse. The movie does not shout at you. It quietly pulls you in. By the end, I was holding my breath.
Here is the craziest part. This film came on Netflix on April 3. Within one day, it became the number one movie in India. A flop film beat big star movies. That never happens.
So if you like slow, tense crime stories, watch this tonight.
Why I loved it:
- Sanjay Mishra does not act. He just becomes that man.
- No boring songs to skip. Just story.
- It proves you do not need a big hero to make a great film.

2. Mardaani 3 – Rani Mukerji Still Scares Me
I have watched all three Mardaani films. And I still get nervous when Shivani Shivaji Roy enters a room.
This third part came out on Netflix on March 27. And within days, people went back to watch part one and two again. All three films were in the Top 10 together. That tells you something about this character.
In this one, Shivani goes after a new kind of criminal. The fights are rough. The dialogues hit hard. And Rani Mukerji looks like she could actually break your arm.
If you like strong women and crime stories, do not skip this.
3. Dhurandhar – Pure Action Masala Done Right
Sometimes you just want to see a hero beat up a hundred bad guys. That is Dhurandhar.
Ranveer Singh plays a spy. He goes to Pakistan to stop a terror attack. The action scenes are huge. The story moves fast. And Ranveer has this energy that never stops.
This film first came in theaters in December. Then it hit Netflix on January 30. The numbers are crazy. It got 7.8 million views in its first weekend. Later, it became the most watched Indian film on Netflix with 2.2 crore views.
Is it realistic? No. Is it fun? Yes.
4. Toaster – Coming April 15. Do Not Miss This.

I am excited about this one. Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra star in this dark comedy. The story is so simple but so funny.
A man gives a toaster as a wedding gift. Then the wedding gets canceled. Now the man wants his toaster back. That is it. That is the plot. But what happens next involves lies, fights, and even a murder.
This comes out on April 15. Put it on your calendar.
5. Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos – A Good Laugh for the Weekend
Vir Das directed and stars in this one. It came out on April 1. Aamir Khan has a small funny role in it.
The story is about a chef who wants to be a spy. He is terrible at it. That is where the laughs come from. Vir Das puts on a British accent and speaks broken Hindi. It is silly. It is light. It is perfect for when you do not want to think too much.
Trending Indian Movies on Netflix Right Now
I looked at the Netflix Top 10 from last week. Here is what people in India are actually watching.
- Vadh 2 (Hindi) – Crime Thriller
- Mrityunjay (Telugu) – Action Thriller
- Mardaani 3 (Hindi) – Action
- Dhurandhar (Hindi) – Spy Action
- Sampradayani Suppini Suddapoosani (Telugu) – Comedy
- Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos (Hindi) – Comedy
- Border 2 (Hindi) – War Drama
See that? A small film like Vadh 2 is beating big movies. That is the new rule of OTT. Good story wins.
New Bollywood Movies on Netflix Coming in 2026
Here is what you should keep an eye on.
Ikka (Coming Soon)
Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna. Remember them from Border? Now they are not brothers. They are enemies. Sunny plays a lawyer. He has to defend a man he once hated. The teaser shows a tense fight in court. If you liked Pink or Section 375, you will like this.
Hum Hindustani (Coming Soon)
Saif Ali Khan and Pratik Gandhi star in this true story. It is about India's first election after independence. A small team of officers had to make it happen. No one thought they could do it. But they did. This is history, but told like a thriller.
Maa Behen (Coming Soon)
Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri in a dark comedy. A dead neighbor. A wedding next door. A mother and daughter who cannot stop fighting. The teaser looks wild. Add this to your list.

Why I Think These New Indian Movies on Netflix Are Winning
I keep asking myself – why are so many people watching Indian movies on Netflix right now? Here is my honest answer. Filmmakers have stopped playing safe. They are making small, personal stories. Stories about real people. Not just rich heroes flying around.
Look at Vadh 2. That film has no star. No big songs. No expensive sets. Just a good story. And people love it. Same with Haq. That film failed in theaters. But on Netflix, it got 11.3 million views.
The other thing I love is the variety. You have Hindi films. Telugu films like Mrityunjay. Malayalam films. Tamil films. There is always something new to try.
How to Pick the Best New Indian Movie for Your Weekend
Still confused? Here is what I would do.
-
Pick Vadh 2 if you like slow crime shows where regular people do extraordinary things.
-
Pick Dhurandhar if you want big action and a hero who never loses.
-
Pick Mardaani 3 if you want to see a strong woman take down bad men.
-
Pick Toaster if you like weird, dark, funny stories.
-
Pick Happy Patel if you just want to laugh and relax.
